Dr. Theresa Humphreys

Veterinarian

Dr Theresa Humphreys grew up on a hobby farm in rural Pennsylvania. She knew from a very young age that she wanted to be a veterinarian. Every stray animal that wandered in or “followed” her home only re-enforced that decision. She showed Hampshire sheep, Simmental beef cattle and horses in 4H and open shows all across the country while growing up.

Dr. Humphreys attended Iowa State University receiving an undergraduate degree in animal science and a doctorate in veterinary medicine, in 2006. After graduation she started a part time mixed animal practice while working at horse racetracks throughout the Midwest.

Over the years Dr Humphreys has had the fortune to gain experience working in multiple states including OH, NE, MN and Iowa. Ultimately though she found her way back to central Iowa.

Dr. Humphreys and her husband live on an acreage in Maxwell with their son and their critters (currently 2 dogs, 2 cats, horse and sheep). When not working Dr. Humphreys enjoys camping, gardening, and canning.
